We're five matches into this young MLS season and Whitecaps FC hold a 2W-1L-2D record with eight out of a possible 15 points. Coming off a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of San Jose Earthquakes less than two weeks ago, the ‘Caps will look to rebound against the best team in Major League Soccer, Sporting Kansas City, this Wednesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. PT.
Peter Vermes' squad boasts an impressive line-up of talent all over the field, including a deadly strike force that includes Teal Bunbury, C.J. Sapong, and Kei Kamara, and a reliable goalkeeper in Jimmy Nielsen. This will be the only time this season that Sporting KC will travel to the west coast to take on the ‘Caps, so make sure to purchase your tickets for what is sure to be a thrilling match on Bell Pitch at BC Place.
This match will mark our first Wednesday home match of the season. There are many activities for ‘Caps fans of all ages to enjoy before the match. Fans can grab a bite to eat at one of our partner restaurants or join the TEAM 1410 radio team for their pre-game show at Hurricane Grill.
‘Caps Kickoff will also be taking place on Terry Fox Plaza outside BC Place, starting at 5 p.m. At ‘Caps Kickoff, fans will be able to participate in a variety of activities brought to you by Whitecaps FC partners. The Bell Box will be on location, and fans will be able to get player autographs, while at the BMO Power of Blue booth fans will be able to test the power of their kick.
