Atiba Harris undergoes successful knee surgery

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed today that striker Atiba Harris underwent successful surgery for a torn meniscus to his right knee on Friday, May 25.

“Though we are all disappointed to see Atiba suffer a setback, we expect him to make a complete recovery and look forward to having him back on the pitch this summer,” said Whitecaps FC head coach Martin Rennie.

This season, Saint Kitts and Nevis international has started two of four MLS appearances for the Blue and White for 182 minutes of action. He also scored in the first leg of the 2012 Amway Canadian Championship semifinal, as Whitecaps FC won 2-0 at North American Soccer League side FC Edmonton on May 2.
