NCAA basketball fans know all about March Madness, but Whitecaps FC supporters know all about May Madness. The Blue and White just finished their busiest month of the season as they played eight matchs in four weeks. The ‘Caps acquitted themselves very well on the field, holding down a would-be playoff position in the Western Conference while earning two hard fought points in two Cascadia Cup matches. Whitecaps FC played so many games in the month of May that the Vancouver Sun decided to hand out their first ever “Maybe” Awards. Thorrington has been able to make significant contributions on the field this year and this past week in the City of Roses he not only earned the Budweiser Man of the Match award, but he was also later named to the MLS Team of the Week. The Cascadia rivalry is one of the best in Major League Soccer and supporters groups have been key to the rivalry since its inception. The Timbers Army helps make JELD-WEN Field true a fortress deep in the City of Roses.
