Residency squads battle Arsenal FC in final match of the regular season

One match remains in the United States Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) regular season for both Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-18 and U-16 Residency teams, as each have wrapped up the top spots in their respective divisions.


In their last games, the Residency squads captured convincing decisions against Seattle Sounders FC, with Whitecaps FC U-18 capturing a 9-0 result over their division rivals, while the ‘Caps U-16 squad won 2-0.


On Sunday, the Residency squads square off against USSDA West Conference rivals, Arsenal FC. The U-18 Residency squad will play first at 12 p.m. PT versus Arsenal FC U-17/18, followed by the U-16 Residency squad taking on Arsenal FC U-15/16 side at 2:30 p.m. PT. Both matches take place at Whatcom Community College in Bellevue, Washington.


U-18

The U-18 ‘Caps head into Sunday’s match coming off one of their most convincing outings of the season as they captured a lopsided 9-0 result over Seattle Sounders FC U-17/18. The U-18 Residency have already won the West Conference, Northwest Division. With this being their last game of the season the U-18 squad will look to continue their momentum into the playoffs.


U-16

The U-16 ‘Caps squad kept the ball rolling against Seattle Sounders FC in their last match by beating their rivals 2-0 in a battle for the Northwest Division title. The ‘Caps U-16 squad will look for a positive result on Sunday as they prepare to take part in the USSDA playoffs for the first time in club history next week.


Following this Sunday’s matches, Whitecaps FC Residency squads travel to Frisco, Texas, to take part in the USSDA Playoffs starting next weekend.
