Vancouver Whitecaps FC go pink for Wednesday's match at BC Place

DeMerit kicks cancer

October is now upon us, the official month to support breast cancer awareness. How can you support?

For starters you can join the ‘Caps at tomorrow night's match (7 p.m. PT at BC Place) by wearing pink and bearing the prominent pink cancer ribbon.

This month, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are participating in the annual MLS league-wide initiative called “Soccer Kicks Cancer”. During tomorrow night’s match against Chivas USA, Whitecaps FC players will proudly bear limited edition adidas breast cancer jerseys during warm-up while they kick around limited edition pink soccer balls. The team will also be sporting pink scarves and sweatbands and will be provided with pink gatorade towels for the bench. To kickstart this campaign, Whitecaps FC players spent yesterday's training session clad in special edition ”Soccer Kicks Cancer” t-shirts

A selection of the game-worn, limitied edition gear including: jerseys, t-shirts and scarves, as well as the pink soccer balls, will be signed by 'Caps players and available for bidding during the game. To have your chance to win this gear visit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (BC/Yukon Region) silent auction table at Section 235 anytime before or during the match.

If you wish to donate you can also visit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation booth before the game at ‘Caps Kick Off on Terry Fox Plaza, or make a donation online HERE.

Help support a future without the fear of breast cancer!
