EA SPORTS predicts LA Galaxy will win second straight MLS Cup

EA MLS Cup

REDWOOD CITY, CA – LA Galaxy will win its second straight MLS Cup with a 2-1 victory over Houston Dynamo in front of a hometown crowd at The Home Depot Center, according to an EA SPORTS™ FIFA Soccer 13 videogame simulation of MLS Cup 2012 using the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system.

Saturday, December 1 at 1:30pm PT - TSN & TEAM 1410

The winning goal came off the foot of Galaxy striker Robbie Keane in the 83rd minute after midfielder David Beckham, playing in his final MLS game, curled a free kick around the wall that beat Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall but hit the post. Keane, in the right place at the right time, easily headed the rebound into the open net for the game-clinching goal and LA’s second straight MLS Cup victory over Houston. LA also won the MLS Cup last year with a 1-0 victory over Houston.

In the EA SPORTS simulation, Landon Donovan opened the scoring in the 21st minute after midfielder Mike Magee crossed a ball in from the right wing and Donovan volleyed it home with his left foot and a 1-0 lead. Houston leveled the score in the 65th minute when forward Will Bruin went high over the LA defense to head a cross from midfielder Macoumba Kandji past goalkeeper Josh Saunders into the net. That set the stage for Keane’s winner after Christian Wilhelmsson was fouled on the edge of the Houston penalty area.
