Whitecaps FC volunteer at the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau

Christmas Bureau 2

For many families across the Lower Mainland, Christmas can be a difficult time of year. For eight years, the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau has been working to ease this difficulty by providing Christmas gifts to low-income families. Last year the Bureau was able to provide toys, clothing, and food vouchers to approximately 1,800 families in need, bringing smiles to thousands of children and teens on Christmas day.

This non-profit organization relies on generous donations and the help of the many thoughtful volunteers that dedicate their time each year. On Wednesday, December 19, the ‘Caps were proud to lend a helping hand.

Dressed in warm jackets, toques, and gloves, 20 staff members from the ‘Caps head office headed down to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau to join a number of other volunteers in the warehouse. Together they counted, sorted, and packed hundreds of toys for boys, girls, and teens. At the end of the day everyone left with an appreciation for the work and service that the Bureau provides for the community.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC would like to recognize the invaluable service that the Bureau provides to our community every holiday season in helping make Christmas a special time for many appreciative people!
