The TWO ONE

The TWO ONE: Here we go again!

Hurtado at YVR

It’s all starting to feel real again.

Training at home is one thing, but getting the entire group together to travel for the first time has really ramped up the anticipation for March 2.

Here’s how the last 24 hours have gone:

Yesterday’s travel day began on the field, as the players did testing at the indoor turf field at Burnaby 8 Rinks. Then it was off to the airport, where team administrator Steve Bridge was there to greet and direct everybody with boarding passes and security forms to ensure a smooth passage.

After a bit of waiting, chatting, and listening to music for some, the ‘Caps contingent boarded the plane to Phoenix. Following the two-and-a-half hour flight and the hour drive to the Grande Sports World complex in Casa Grande, it was time for dinner, then off to bed to finish off a long day.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Wake up!

It was up and at ‘em this morning, starting with a team breakfast.

Following the morning meal, the boys hit the training field where the coaching staff split the squad into two groups. A good warm-up was followed by some passing and possession work, rounded out by some team shape and organization lessons in preparation for tonight's match versus New England Revolution.

When we come down to that crucial point in our season, when it’s win or go home, we’ll look back at these days.

This is where all the hard work begins.
