VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed today that centre back Carlyle Mitchell and striker Kenny Miller have been called up by their respective countries for international duty next month.


Mitchell, 25, will join Trinidad and Tobago for a training camp from February 4 to 7, with an international friendly match against Peru on Wednesday, February 6 in preparation for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Mitchell has appeared in 15 matches for the Soca Warriors.


The ‘Caps defender was last called up to the Trinidad and Tobago national team for the 2012 Caribbean Cup, where he played every minute of the tournament for his country en route to a second place finish which ensured qualification to the Gold Cup.


Miller, 33, will join up with Scotland ahead of their international friendly match against Estonia on Wednesday, February 6 at Pittodrie Stadium in Aberdeen, Scotland. The native of Edinburgh will be keen to add to his 17 goals and 65 appearances for his country before returning to Vancouver on Friday. February 8.
