On Monday, media were given a tour of the 'Caps new 4,000 square foot training facility as part of Phase One at the National Soccer Development Centre (NSDC) on the campus of the University of British Columbia (UBC).

The players get their first look today as they train at the NSDC for the first time.

Phase One will serve as the club’s home until its 25,000 square foot clubhouse is built. Phase Two and Three of the NSDC is expected to complete prior to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015. Once built, the NSDC will become the new training base for the Whitecaps FC men’s, Residency, and Girl’s Elite teams, UBC’s soccer teams, as well as the west coast base for Canada’s men’s, women’s, and youth national teams. The facility will also devote more than 50 per cent of field time to community soccer use.
