MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends and fines Whitecaps FC defender Johnny Leveron

NEW YORK, NY – The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Johnny Leveron one game and fined him an undisclosed amount for a reckless challenge that endangered the safety of his opponent, LA Galaxy forward Jose Villareal, in the third minute of Vancouver's 3-1 win on May 11 (VIDEO).

Leveron will serve his suspension this Saturday, May 18, when Vancouver host Portland at BC Place at 4 p.m. PT - ­ TV: City, RADIO: TEAM 1410 ­ teamradio.ca, ONLINE: live.mlssoccer.com, MOBILE:bell.ca/mobiletv.

Fines collected will be donated to the charitable partners of MLS W.O.R.K.S. and the MLS Players Union.
