Fantasy Forecast: Round 13

Fantasy Forecast: Round 13 -

After stressful back to back double game weeks, it only gets more complicated from here. The dreaded international week is fast approaching again and headaches are on the agenda. The only sure way to avoid the pain of missing players to international games, injuries following those games and of course players being rested is to have as close to a full roster as possible. Sounds simple doesn't it?

Landon Donovan ($10.1m), LA Galaxy – He's been up and down this season but now you need Mr. Donovan more than ever. With Graham Zusi ($10.4m) likely only to play Round 13 and then Round 17 due to byes and national duty you need a big prolific stud in midfield. That man is Donovan.

Lamar Neagle ($5.7m), Seattle Sounders – Touching on the necessity of having a full team, Lamar Neagle comes to mind. He's been on fire for the last two weeks with three goals and one assist. Listed as a midfielder in fantasy but often lining up at forward for Seattle poses great potential. Neagle could easily be a flash in the pan but at $5.7m we like that price.

Team of the week (Round 13), Real SaltLake  – Real Salt Lake at home face the third worst team in the league this round, the Chicago Fire. The Fire has only scored six goals this season and only one on the road. We like those odds and feel Salt Lake will get back to their defensive ways that made them such a powerhouse last season.

Goalkeeper Nick Rimando ($6.1m) is a good person to have to take advantage of the Chicago Fire's woes, but only for this week as he is on international duty and will most likely miss Round 14 and 15. In defense we like Chris Schuler ($5.7m) we are aware that he didn't play last game and that appears to be to avoid fatigue as it was his first time sitting out all season. If you're worried about that fact then we suggest going with Chris Wingert ($5.3m) or cheap alternative Tony Beltran ($4.5m).

Middle of the park you have to start with Kyle Beckerman ($8.4m) who has 1 goal and 1 assist in his last 2 rounds, or Javier Morales ($8.4m) who has been creating many key passes in the past few weeks. As for forwards we aren't a fan of many of the attacking forwards on Real Salt Lake and are convinced you can find better alternatives on other teams. That’s all for this week, and good luck in Round 13 Fantasy Managers.
