Whitecaps FC support the Michael Cuccione Foundation

Kick for a Cure

Whitecaps FC has been a long time supporter of The Michael Cuccione Foundation and their annual event, Kick For A Cure. This year the event took place on Saturday, July 20 and featured an adult soccer tournament, youth tournament, and youth clinics throughout the day. Each participating team was encouraged to collect donations with all proceeds going towards The Michael Cuccione Foundation and Childhood Cancer Research.

The Michael Cuccione Foundation was created in memory of Michael Cuccione who passed away in 2001 at the age of 16. He dedicated the end of his life to raising money to help support research and funding for doctors to find a cure for cancer. A foundation was created in his legacy by his parents, Domenic and Gloria Cuccione.

Whitecaps FC was onsite in support of this event with appearances by Carl Valentine, Bob Lenarduzzi, and Omar Salgado. The ‘Caps were thrilled to be part of such an amazing event and are dedicated to using soccer to give back to the community.

“One person can only do so much, but together we can make a difference.” – Michael Cuccione
