Camilo nets game-winner in simulated FIFA 14 MLS All-Star Game

For a second straight year, EA Sports' FIFA 14 has predicted a victory for the MLS All-Star team over illustrious European adversaries.

Now it's up to the league's best to make sure the prediction comes true for two years running, too.

EA Sports has made the All-Star squad one of its “unlockable” teams in their newest edition of the massively popular video game, allowing a simulation of Wednesday night's matchup with AS Roma at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan. (6 pm PT, ESPN2, UniMas, TSN/RDS).

FIFA 14's “football engine” churned out an exciting, end-to-end match in which the MLS All-Stars stage a late comeback to edge their Italian opponents 3-2 on the strength of an 88th-minute gamewinner from Vancouver Whitecaps attacker Camilo Sanvezzo.

Roma grabbed an early lead thanks to a well-executed corner kick from Erik Lamela to Federico Balzaretti, and a 64th-minute strike from US international Michael Bradley put the Giallorossi back in front after Montreal Impact veteran Marco Di Vaio leveled matters for the All-Stars.

But heroics from Camilo and New York Red Bulls star Thierry Henry fueled a rally in the dying minutes to leave Roma disappointed.

An EA Sports simulation also called last season's clash with English powerhouse Chelsea FC, where the MLS All-Stars dug out a 3-2 win at the Philadelphia Union's PPL Park home on the strength of an injury-time winner from Eddie Johnson.

FIFA 14 makes its highly anticipated public debut in just under two months, with US release set for Sept. 24 and worldwide availability three days later. It will be available in Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions, and fans who achieve Level 14 will be able to unlock the 2013 MLS All-Star team along with a host of other extra features through the EAS FC Catalogue.
