It’s been a season to remember for Vancouver Whitecaps FC striker Camilo Sanvezzo.
Not only has the in-form Brazilian set a new career-high in goals with over a quarter of the season remaining, he was also the first Whitecaps FC player to be named MLS Player of the Month and made his first appearance at the MLS All-Star Game.
Much of Camilo’s success this season – and in previous ones – has come from set pieces. Most recently, he set up defender Jordan Harvey’s equalizer with a corner kick Saturday at Portland.
His pinpoint free kick delivery at the MLS All-Star Game last week also created the league’s lone goal and he helped the ‘Caps claim a 1-1 draw against Sporting Kansas City on July 3 with an inch-perfect bending strike from 20 yards out.
Club ambassador Carl Valentine caught up with Camilo earlier this week to get a firsthand look at the Brazilian’s free kick magic.
