Fantasy Forecast: Round 25

FantasyForecast25

Did the signing of Clint Dempsey ($9.5m) have you scrambling to add him to your fantasy team?
Needless to say, all eyes will be on the Sounders going forward, to see just how big an impact the addition of Dempsey will bring. Also this week, we touch on the Whitecaps new #1 and the immortal midfielder Mike Magee.
Mike Magee ($9.8m), Chicago Fire
– Mr. Magee is the very model of consistency. Eight of ten weeks now, Mike has scored for Chicago. With Montreal Impact visiting he looks likely to have another stellar game, and may even take over the league leading fantasy point total title. If all goes well his price should push further north.
David Ousted ($4.5m), Vancouver Whitecaps FC
 – I can't remember the last time we recommended a goalkeeper, Ousted presents tremendous value! He finally appears to have secured #1 status last week after patiently waiting since his acquisition. At $4.5m he screams buy. Very familiar to Clint Irwin ($5.1m) when he was valued at $4.0m, he moved to $5.0m in around 11 rounds. Whitecaps are at home this week, so we expect a very strong performance by David and the reast of the blue & white.
Team of the week (Round 25), Seattle Sounders
 – League wide, the buzz is all about the Seattle Sounders with their shock signing of Clint Dempsey ($9.5m). We don't expect to see Dempsey see much more than perhaps 20 minutes this weekend so with that being said it's a waiting game. However, many managers are picking him up early since the inevitable price increase is bound to come soon. If you can spare the transaction and the large salary sitting on the bench for a week then it's not a bad idea.
Obefemi Martins ($9.2m) and Eddie Johnson ($9.7m) both look poised for a start up front. Although we much rather have Martins on our starting roster, better value and coming off back to back 7pt rounds. Also keep in mind that EJ and Brad Evans ($7.1m) could likely be travelling to Sarejevo with the US Men's National Team for their friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina on August 14th.
Michael Gspurning ($5.5m) is likely to return to the line up after his 3 week injury held him out. If you are planning on picking him up, try to stay up to date with the Sounders news in case  there are any last minute changes.
On Defense look no further than DeAndre Yedlin ($4.7m) who has 20 points in the last 3 rounds. He's a great pick versus a Toronto FC side who has been struggling to find the back of the net. In the centre of the park, you really can't go wrong with any of Seattle's midfielders. Our favourite is Brad Evans ($7.1m) but If you have the spare funds Mauro Rosales ($8.5m) is always an exciting prospect.
