Potential on display in Canada senior men's national team intrasquad match in Florida

canMNT update - Farmer, Fisk, Froese, Adekugbe

There may have just been bragging rights on the line but Canada’s senior men’s national team put in a high-tempo intrasquad game on Saturday in Sunrise, Florida, as part of their first camp of 2014.

As opposed to two halves, the teams played three-25 minute periods – with most of the experienced players in camp on one side while the majority of the younger players were the opposition.

Qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia is fast approaching but for a lot of the players in Florida, the qualifying campaign for the U-23 tournament at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro will be up sooner.

Benito Floro's side will take on the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the North American Soccer League in a closed door friendly to conclude the camp on Tuesday.

Four Vancouver Whitecaps FC players are participating in the camp, including Homegrown defender Sam Adekugbe, Residency defender Jackson Farmer, Residency midfielder Kianz Froese, and U-23 midfielder Ben Fisk
