Whitecaps FC U-23 will open the 2014 USL PDL season on the road May 4 against British Columbia rival Victoria Highlanders FC, last year’s Western Conference, Northwest Division champions. A few weeks later, the ‘Caps will host the Highlanders on May 23 in their home opener at UBC's Thunderbird Stadium.

The team with the best record in those matches will be awarded the Juan De Fuca Plate, a supporters-driven competition between the British Columbia clubs in the USL PDL. In 2013, the ‘Caps won the competition for the second straight year.

In total, Whitecaps FC U-23 will play 14 matches this season, including a pair of meetings with Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC U-23 and Portland Timbers U-23.

All home matches are tentatively scheduled to be played at UBC's Thunderbird Stadium.

Last season, Whitecaps FC U-23 finished third in the USL PDL and qualified for the post-season for the first time since 2008, before falling to the Timbers in penalty kicks in the play-in round.
