Major League Soccer announces 19 players invited to 2015 Caribbean Combine

Major League Soccer has announced the 19 players who have been invited to participate in the 2015 Caribbean Combine from Jan. 2-5 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.


Players will compete in front of league scouts for the opportunity to earn an invitation to the 2015 adidas MLS Player Combine in Fort Lauderdale, beginning on Jan. 8.


All MLS Combine invitees will be eligible for selection in the 2015 SuperDraft presented by adidas held on Thursday, Jan. 15 in Philadelphia.


Two of the 23 players who were invited to the inaugural Caribbean Combine in 2014 were invited to the MLS Combine, and Suriname native Stefano Rijssel became the first Caribbean Combine player to be drafted when he was taken by the Seattle Sounders in the third round of the MLS SuperDraft.


He was later cut by the team during preseason.
