After opening the 2015 U-20 CONCACAF Championship with a 3-1 win over Haiti, Canada (1W-1L-0D) fell 2-0 to Mexico (2W-0L-0D) Monday in their second match of the tournament at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in Jamaica.
Hirving Lozana gave Mexico a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute and Diego Peneda Juarez added an insurance marker in stoppage time. Mexico, a tournament favourite who beat Cuba 9-1 in their opener, outshot Canada by a 17-6 margin, but Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency graduate Nolan Wirth kept things close with a pair of outstandings saves.

canM20 head coach Rob Gale comments on the match |
The Canadians looked stronger as the match went on and came close in the 65th minute when Michael Petrasso sent a shot just wide, but fell just short in the end.
"I think we can continue to play better," Canadian U-20 head coach Rob Gale said after the match. "That's why I'm confident. You haven't seen the best of us yet. We'll regroup from this."
