Vancouver Whitecaps FC are returning 22 players to the start of preseason training on Monday, which is the most in the club's MLS history. And while head coach Carl Robinson has said he's not done adding to the squad yet, it's already been a busy offseason for the club. So with preseason set to begin, we thought you might want to catch up on all of Vancouver's roster moves over the last few months.

Nov. 14, 2014 – Whitecaps FC decline 2015 contract option on midfielder Bryce Alderson. Vancouver will retain Alderson’s first right of refusal in MLS.

Nov. 14, 2014 -- Whitecaps FC part ways with out-of-contract defender Carlyle Mitchell. Should Mitchell choose to continue his career within MLS, Vancouver will have the right of first refusal.


Dec. 8, 2014 – Whitecaps FC pick up options on goalkeepers Marco Carducci, David Ousted and Paolo Tornaghi, defender Ethen Sampson, midfielders Mehdi Ballouchy, Gershon Koffie, and Andre Lewis, and strikers Erik Hurtado and Darren Mattocks.


Dec. 8, 2014 – Whitecaps FC decline options on centre back Johnny Leverón, forward Sebastián Fernández and striker Mamadou Diouf. Whitecaps FC retain Leveron’s MLS rights.

Dec. 8, 2014 – Whitecaps FC, in collaboration with MLS expansion side New York City FC, announce the trade and transfer of striker Omar Salgado to an international club, which was later revealed to be Mexican side Tigres UANL.

Dec. 8, 2014 – Whitecaps FC re-sign Homegrown striker Caleb Clarke.

Dec. 10, 2014 – New York City FC select midfielder Mehdi Ballouchy in MLS Expansion Draft.


Dec. 11, 2014 – Whitecaps FC re-sign midfielder Nicolas Mezquidá.


Dec. 16, 2014 – Whitecaps FC re-sign midfielder Mauro Rosales.


Dec. 25, 2014 – Whitecaps FC acquire Uruguayan striker Octavio Rivero as a Young Designated Player from Chile’s Primera División side O’Higgins FC.


Dec. 31, 2014 – Centre back Andy O’Brien’s contract expires. The club and O’Brien were unable to come to terms on a new agreement.


Jan. 14, 2015 – Whitecaps FC acquire Uruguayan centre back Diego Rodriguez on a one-year loan with transfer option.


Jan. 15, 2015 – Whitecaps FC select centre back Tim Parker (13th overall) and forward Kay Banjo (38th overall) in first two rounds of 2015 MLS SuperDraft.


Jan. 18, 2015 – Whitecaps FC re-sign head coach Carl Robinson, assistant coaches Martyn Pert and Gordon Forrest, and goalkeeper coach Marius Rovde to multi-year contract extensions.


Jan. 20, 2015 – Whitecaps FC select SFU midfielder/striker Jovan Blagojevic (54th overall), striker Adam Montague (58th overall), goalkeeper Spencer Richey (61st overall), defender Craig Nitti (72nd overall), and Canadian defender Nikola Paunic (74th overall) in the final two rounds of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.


Jan. 21, 2015 – Whitecaps FC sign experienced centre back Pa-Modou Kah.


Jan. 26, 2015 –Whitecaps FC add Residency graduate midfielder Ben McKendry

Feb. 9, 2015 - Whitecaps FC acquire allocation money from Philadelphia Union for right of first refusal to defender Steven Vitória

Feb. 24, 2015 - Whitecaps FC acquire midfielder Deybi Flores on a one-year loan with transfer option.

As per MLS rules, Whitecaps FC retain MLS rights after making a bona fide contract offer.
