Group F action in the CONCACAF Champions League continued on Wednesday night, with Seattle Sounders FC defeating Honduran side C.D. Olimpia 2-1 at CenturyLink Field.
The Hondurans took an early lead but Seattle stormed back with a 90th-minute equalizer and a stoppage-time winner from the penalty spot to jump into the top spot in Group F.
"It turned into a bit of a boxing match at the end ... it was good, wasn't it?" Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson joked with reporters. "I think Seattle deserved to win the game. Credit to them. We learned a lot watching it about discipline and things like that, so we'll take that on board. We know Seattle is a tough game, but Olimpia are a unique team as well so we'll have to prepared to battle with them."

Whitecaps FC continue their first-ever CCL campaign on September 16 against Olimpia (7 p.m. PT at BC Place – tickets still available), before concluding the group stage with a pair of road matches. The team that finishes atop the group will advance to the eight-team “championship stage,” starting in early 2016.
