Surrey United will be holding a Celebration of Life on Wednesday for Martin Foden, a beloved soccer figure in British Columbia. The service will take place at Mirage Banquet Hall in Surrey, BC at 2 p.m. PT.
Foden was most recently the executive director for Surrey United, and also served as coach and manager in his over 25 years with the club.
"Martin helped build a model club with Surrey United. Beyond that, he was instrumental in moving the sport of soccer forward in BC," said Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi. "I will always fondly remember our opportunity to work together in local soccer development initiatives. He will be greatly missed."
Whitecaps FC wish to offer condolences to the Foden family at this time.
