VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Friday their home kickoff times for the 2016 MLS regular season, featuring a cross-section of afternoon and evening start times.
The season kicks off at BC Place with the home opener at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 6 versus Didier Drogba and Montreal Impact at 2:30 p.m. The other two Sunday home dates are against Cascadia Cup rivals, including Seattle Sounders FC on October 2 at 5 p.m., and the Decision Day tilt versus defending MLS Cup champion Portland Timbers on October 23 at 1 p.m.
Majority of the home matches will be on Saturday, including the April 2 visit from Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane, and LA Galaxy, and the July 16 matchup with Kaká and Orlando City SC. The two highly-anticipated matches will kick off at 7 p.m.
Whitecaps FC will be hosting three Wednesday evening home matches during the regular season, with the April 27 versus Sporting Kansas City and the July 13 against Real Salt Lake matches starting at 7:30 p.m., and the May 11 match-up with Chicago Fire kicking off at 7 p.m.
The 'Caps first-ever Friday home match on August 12 starts at 8 p.m. against San Jose.
Single match tickets will go on sale on Thursday, February 18 at 10 a.m. PT.
