2018 Community Match Nights

Vancouver Whitecaps FC supports the club’s community partners through a variety of events and initiatives each year. Below are some of the key dates during the upcoming 2018 season.
Friday, April 13 – Daffodil Day supporting Canadian Cancer Society
Every April, Whitecaps FC participates in Daffodil Month to show support for Canadians living with cancer. On Friday, April 13 as the 'Caps take on Los Angeles FC, fans can purchase a daffodil pin at the match with all funds donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Friday, April 27 – Jeans Day supporting BC Children’s Hospital
Wear your jeans to the match to show your support for BC’s kids as Whitecaps FC face Real Salt Lake! Purchase a Jeans Day button or lapel pin at ‘Caps Kickoff or on the concourse. All proceeds will be donated to BC Children’s Hospital as part of Jeans Day on May 3.
Saturday, June 9 – #BuckUp for Mental Health supporting Covenant House Vancouver
The fifth annual #BuckUp for Mental Health fundraising campaign in support of Covenant House Vancouver will culminate at the ‘Caps match on Saturday, June 9 against Orlando City SC. Fans are encouraged to #BuckUp and make a donation at the match to support homeless and at-risk youth.
Saturday, July 28 – Pride Night  
Our community includes everyone, and on July 28 Whitecaps FC will host their annual Pride Night as the Blue and White take on Minnesota United FC. The event originally began as a partnership with the Vancouver Pride Society and has expanded to include a number of community representatives. Saturday, September 15 – Legends & Stars match supporting BC Children’s Hospital
Whitecaps FC alumni fan favourites and special celebrity guests will headline the list of players participating in Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s fourth annual charity alumni match at BC Place, prior to the MLS match against Seattle Sounders FC.


The 2017 event included alumni such as Young-Pyo Lee, Davide Chiumiento, and John Catliff, while the celebrity contingent featured

Robert Carlyle
 (Rumpelstiltskin/Once Upon a Time, Begbie/Trainspotting, Gaz/The Full Monty),
Henry Cusick
(Marcus/The 100, Desmond/Lost),

Charles Melton
(Reggie Mantle/Riverdale).
All funds raised will be donated to BC Children’s Hospital.
