OCEANSIDE, CA – Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-19 Residency swept all three matches in the group stage at the Academy Playoffs with another big win, defeating Pateadores 3-1 on Friday.
Theo Bair scored the first two goals of the match, bringing his total to six in three playoff matches. Jefferson Alade also netted a goal for a third consecutive match to round out the scoring for the 'Caps.
The U-19s now advance to the quarterfinals on Monday, with their opponent to be determined. Should they win that match, they will advance to the Academy Championship semifinals on July 8 in Kansas City, Missouri.
UPDATE: The U-19s will play Sockers FC on Monday, June 25 at 2 p.m. PT at SoCal Sport Complex Field 17
Meanwhile, the U-17s will finish their fun at the Academy Playoffs on Saturday at 4 p.m. PT when they take on Philadelphia Union, two hours after the clubs’ MLS sides face off in Philadelphia at Talen Energy Stadium (Live on TSN 1/5, TSN 1040 Radio).
