WATCH: Henry scores first goal for Canada in 6-0 win over Cuba

TORONTO, ON – Doneil Henry scored his first senior international goal for Canada on Saturday in their Concacaf Nations League-opening 6-0 rout over Cuba at BMO Field.


The ‘Caps centre back, who was making his 29th appearance for Canada, found the back of the net in the 65th minute with a sliding, first-time finish inside the box.

Henry and fellow Whitecaps FC centre back Derek Cornelius both started the match, with Cornelius going the full 90 and Henry playing 68 minutes.


Junior Hoilett (Cardiff City FC) led the way for Canada with three goals and one assist. Jonathan David (KAA Gent) and Jonathan Osorio (Toronto) also figured on the scoresheet.


Canada will play the return leg against Cuba on Tuesday at Truman Bodden Sports Complex in George Town, Cayman Islands. The match will kick off at 4:15 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on OneSoccer.ca.
