Join the wave: Whitecaps FC launch Twitter accounts in nine new languages

Vancouver Whitecaps FC are going global.
 
This morning the club launched multilingual Twitter accounts in nine new languages, deepening its connection to audiences around the globe.
 
“Soccer is the world’s game, and Vancouver is a global market” said Mark Pannes, Whitecaps FC chief executive officer. “Our city is a gateway, it sits on the pacific rim, it’s part of the commonwealth, and it’s home to a very diverse population. We have a wealth of people keen to follow this club, support this club, and join us in every success. This is one more step in connecting us together.”
 
The new languages featured include:
Whitecaps FC continue to seek applicants for additional accounts, including:
  • Farsi
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Punjabi
  • Serbian
