STORYLINES, PRESENTED BY THE PROVINCE

Finally back home: The 'Caps are finally back home at BC Place after being away for 189 days. The 'Caps kicked off their season at home on February 29, then was on the road on the following week before the season came to a pause. Whitecaps FC, who have been away from their home pitch for the longest across MLS, look to capitalize on being back on familiar ground.

Future is bright: During their time away from home, several young Whitecaps FC players have emerged to show their abilities to contribute. Homegrown products Michael Baldisimo, Thomas Hasal, and Patrick Metcalfe have each been solid in their first MLS starts. Fellow Canadian-born 'Caps Theo Bair, Derek Cornelius, Cristian Gutierrez and Ryan Raposo have also shown well when called upon. All seven players are 23 years or younger.

Canadian contribution: Canadian players have played 3,551 minutes out of a possible 8,910 minutes so far in 2020 across all competitions, equating to close to 40% of the total. The Canadian 'Caps have combined to make 38 starts and 57 appearances. Canada MNT centre back Derek Cornelius is coming off a strong outing at Montreal Impact, while forwards Lucas Cavallini and Tosaint Ricketts hope to provide the offence to spark the 'Caps.

Rematch in Vancouver: The 'Caps showed gradual improvements through the three matches out east despite not netting the desired results. They get to measure the strides they've made against a Toronto FC side that has demonstrated why they were the class of the Eastern Conference last season. Designated Players Alejandro Pozuelo and Pablo Piatti are the feature men for the TFC attack.
