VANCOUVER, BC – Major League Soccer announced the remaining 2020 MLS regular season schedule on Tuesday, unveiling a Vancouver Whitecaps FC slate against their two Cascadia rivals, the three California-based MLS clubs, as well as a rematch with last weekend’s opponent Real Salt Lake. All Whitecaps FC matches will be broadcast live on TSN and TSN 1040 Radio.
The club also confirmed that all home matches for the rest of the season will be played at Providence Park in Portland, including this Sunday’s previously-announced fixture against the Timbers. In total, the ‘Caps will play seven regular season matches at Providence Park, including the final four on their schedule – six as the home side plus one as the visiting team against the Timbers on November 1.
This coming Sunday’s match will also be the first of four meetings versus their Cascadia rivals Timbers and Seattle Sounders FC.
Including tomorrow’s visit to Los Angeles Football Club, the ‘Caps have five remaining road matches on the docket. They travel to play Seattle Sounders FC on October 3, San Jose Earthquakes on October 7, and LA Galaxy on October 18, plus their matchup with the Timbers on the penultimate week of the regular season where the ‘Caps play as the visiting side. Matches have been scheduled to minimize travel time, allowing visiting teams to arrive and depart on match day for the majority of games.
League play culminates with Decision Day on November 8 against LA Galaxy at Providence Park.
