VANCOUVER, BC – With demand for tickets continuing to grow, Vancouver Whitecaps FC will open the full lower bowl at BC Place as they kick off their 2018 MLS season on Sunday, March 4 against Canadian rivals Montreal Impact. “We’re very close to filling our regular capacity of 22,120, keeping us on track to have our best ever season opening crowd,” said Rachel Lewis, Whitecaps FC chief operating officer. “This is the first time that we are opening up the full lower bowl to start our season. It promises to be a special atmosphere on March 4 to kick off our 2018 campaign.”

The highest attendance for a Whitecaps FC home opener in the MLS era is currently 22,592, which came at the club's inaugural league match on March 19, 2011 – a memorable 4-2 victory over Toronto FC.
Whitecaps FC finished a strong 2017 season in third place in the Western Conference, earning the club’s first MLS Cup Playoffs victory and a second trip to the Western Conference semifinals in three years.
