VOTE: 2019 Whitecaps FC Player of the Year

Voting is now open for the 2019 Whitecaps FC Player of the Year and will run until September 22. Cast your vote and sign up for the ‘Caps Insider to be entered into a draw to win a jersey signed by the winner. The winner will be announced at the Whitecaps FC BMO Player Awards Ceremony on September 24. 

Maxime Crepeau (GK)

Maxime Crepeau has been a game-changer for the ‘Caps. The 25-year-old goalkeeper from Candiac, Quebec has been named to MLS Team of the Week three times this season, with 107 saves in his 24 appearances. He also set a new MLS single-game record after making 16 saves against San Jose on August 24. 

Doneil Henry (D)

Doneil Henry has shown true grit and resilience in his second season with the ‘Caps. The 26-year-old centre back has started all but one of his 22 appearances so far and is ranked as one of the league’s top 10 defenders with 25 blocks. He’s also made a difference on the other end of the pitch, scoring three goals and recording one assist. 

Inbeom Hwang (M)

South Korean midfielder Inbeom Hwang is quickly making his mark on the club and in the league. In his first MLS season, the 22-year-old has shown versatility across the midfield and attack, recording three goals and two assists. He leads the team in chances created and successful passes and is tied for second amongst MLS midfielders in interceptions.

Yordy Reyna (M/F)

As the club’s joint leading scorer with seven goals, Peruvian international Yordy Reyna has been an electric attacker to watch this season. The 25-year-old’s goal against the Colorado Rapids earned him Week 16’s MLS Goal of the Week plus a spot on the MLS Team of the Week. Reyna is also tied for the team-high with 57 shots and is second on the team in dribbles completed.
