WFC2 report for training camp, announce preseason plans

VANCOUVER, BC – Preseason training camp officially kicks off today for Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) ahead of the team’s second season in the United Soccer League (USL).

Seven players currently on the WFC2 roster are in camp with the first team in Tucson, Arizona. The remainder of WFC2 players report today for medicals and preseason training. 13 players return from the inaugural 2015 season. Three new additions have been announced so far – Daniel Haber, Giuliano Frano, and Kyle Greig – with more announcements to come.

WFC2 will also host an Open Tryout presented by adidas on February 20 and 21 at Simon Fraser University Fox Field. The selected player(s) from the tryout will be invited to join preseason camp. To register for the Open Tryout, go to

The ‘Caps will train from Monday to Friday at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex until the start of the 2016 USL season, which begins on Saturday, March 26 at Orange County Blues FC.

This year, every Tier 1 ‘Caps Club MLS membership includes three open tickets to WFC2 matches. More information on how to select your WFC2 matches will be sent out with your Tier 1 MLS membership packages. All ‘Caps Club Members can upgrade to the full WFC2 season for only $7 per month over 12 months, while Youth can get WFC2 season tickets for $2 per match.
