Vega, 20, comes to Vancouver following a successful junior season playing with Fenter at Washington State University. This past year, the Carson City, Nevada, native made 23 appearances for the Cougars, scoring six goals and recording five assists to earn All-Pac-12 First Team and NSCAA All-Pacific Region Second Team honours. In her three years at the school, Vega has made 60 total appearances, scoring 13 goals and recording eight assists.

2011: Vega played in 23 games for the Cougars, tallying six goals and five assists. 2010: As a sophomore, Vega started 12 of her 15 appearances for WSU. The forward was a All-Pac 10 team honourable mention and won the Cougars most inspirational award. 2009: The Carson City, native started 14 of her 22 appearances. Vega counted four game winning goals as a freshman, which tied for fourth all time on the WSU single season list and ninth all time on the Cougars all-time list.
