Ruby Sandhu

A native of Surrey, British Columbia, Ruby Sandhu is a tough-tackling defender who joined Vancouver Whitecaps FC in September 2012 with experience at both the club and provincial level.
Sandhu began her career with Surrey United Selects in 2002 where she played until 2008. During this time she also turned out for Whitecaps Prospects and Surrey Breakers, both in 2007-2008. She then played for Surrey Revolution from 2008-2011 before joining up with Mountain United FC between 2011-2012. Ruby also represented the BC Provincial team from U13 to U16 level and also attended the National Training Center in 2012.
Ruby grew up in Surrey where she will graduate from Tamanawis Secondary in 2014. The defender’s parents are Sarabjit and Parminder Sandhu and she has a brother named Sunny.
After training, Sandhu enjoys shopping, reading and sleeping. Her favourite player is controversial US Women’s National team goalkeeper Hope Solo and her favourite team is Barcelona. The defensive dynamo’s preferred food is pasta and she would one day love to play at BC Place.
