PROFILE
Ali Zohar, a talented midfielder from Surrey, BC, joined Whitecaps FC Pre-Residency in September 2014 after playing for Surrey United FC in the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL). He was awarded the Youth Soccer Player, BMO RESP in the 2017 WFC Player Awards.
 
DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY
2016-2017
: Zohar appeared in 30 games for Whitecaps FC U-16 including 25 starts. In the playoffs the midfielder was part of the starting XI for the clubs six playoff games.
 
INTERNATIONAL
Zohar was 14 years old when he made his Canadian youth program debut in 2014 under coach Sean Fleming. In 2016 Zohar was invited to the U-17 evaluation camp in Burnaby under coach Paul Stalteri. 
 
YOUTH/AMATEUR
In 2012, Zohar played with BCSPL side Coastal FC. The midfielder stayed with the club through the 2013 campaign, and in the process, helped them win the 2013 U-13 Provincial Premier Cup, before moving  to Surrey United in 2014.
 
PERSONAL
Zohar is on track to graduate in 2018. Zohar lives with his parents, Mohamed Hasem and Asia Bagem, and points to his coach/trainer Jack Reddy, who has worked with him from a very young age, as the greatest influence on his soccer career.
 
INTERESTING FACTS
Zohar is a fan of Spanish juggernaut Real Madrid, and his favourite player is Real Madrid’s striker Cristiano Ronaldo. One day, the midfielder hopes to play at Real Madrid’s home stadium, Santiago Bernabeu. As far as his career goes, Zohar hopes to be able to play soccer at the professional level. Outside of soccer, one of Zohar’s favourite pastimes is playing street hockey.
