Evan Libke

Hailing from North Vancouver, BC, defender Evan Libke joined Whitecaps FC Residency in Sept. 2011 after being part of the club’s Prospects program and representing his home province of British Columbia. 

In 2009 and 2010, Libke was a member of Whitecaps FC Prospects, where he trained under Residency staff coach Bart Choufour. For two years, the defender trained in the program and played for the Prospects during the summers of 2009 and 2010.

Libke started his soccer career in his hometown of North Vancouver, BC, with Lynn Valley Soccer Club, where he played in 2002 and 2004, and then from 2006 to 2008. In 2003 and 2005, the defender played for youth teams in the North Vancouver Lions Gate Soccer Association. Libke made the step up to North Shore Metro in 2009 and 2010 before having a brief spell with Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club in 2011. The defender also represented BC at the U-13 and U-14 levels in 2010 and 2011, having served as captain of his province’s U-14 squad.

Libke represented Canada's U-15 boys' team at an eight-team tournament in Mexico in June 2012.

As a student in North Vancouver, BC, Libke attended Canyon Heights Elementary School from 2002 to 2010. The defender currently attends Handsworth Secondary School on Metro Vancouver’s North Shore. 

Libke’s favourite team is English and European giants Manchester United FC, while his favourite players are Whitecaps FC captain Jay DeMerit and Manchester United’s Serbian centre back Nemanja Vidic. The defender hopes to play at Manchester United’s Old Trafford and Real Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabeu one day. Outside of soccer, Libke likes to play basketball and golf. His favourite foods are Chinese cuisine, plus steak and potatoes.
