Qigong (Andy) Xu, a native of Burnaby, BC, is a swarming midfielder that has been a tremendous addition for Whitecaps FC. Xu joins the 'Caps from Wuhan Zall; a club from China, his country of origin.

Qigong (Andy) Xu represented China at the U-15 level in 2012 in a tournament in Paris, France. He then went on to make appearances for their national team at the U-16 level in friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Germany. He also represented China at the U-17 level in 2013.

Before joining the 'Caps, Xu played with Wuhan Zall from 2010 to 2013, while also representing the club in the NIKE Premier Cup (China Conference) in 2012 and 2013, where they won the title for both years.
The 5-foot-4 midfielder is currently in the eleventh grade, with an expected graduation in 2015.
Xu is a fan of English Premier League powerhouses, Manchester United, and Italian giants Inter Milan. His favourite players are Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, and Chelsea and Spanish striker Fernando Torres. He one day dreams to play at Manchester United's legendary home stadium of Old Trafford. When away from the pitch, Xu enjoys reading novels, playing video games, and watching basketball. His favourite foods are french fries, Chinese tofu, and noodles.
