After winning Group A in their initial playoff group, the ‘Caps U-18s will take on Sacramento Republic FC next Thursday, July 7 at UBC Dhillon Field. Kickoff will be at 3 p.m. PT.

WHAT’S ON THE LINE?
The ‘Caps are three wins away from a USSDA championship.
The winner of the quarterfinal will move on to the final four at the StubHub Center (home of LA Galaxy) in Carson, California. The semifinals will take place on Thursday, July 14, followed by the championship final on Saturday, July 16.
The U-18s have already played Sacramento Republic FC twice this season. In the season opener on September 13, the two teams played to a 2-2 draw at Cloverdale Athletic Park. Later in the season, the ‘Caps won 3-1 on the road.
While the ‘Caps are still chasing their first USSDA championship, they came closest in their inaugural season in the league when the U-18s reached the 2011-12 Championship Final, falling 3-2 to FC Dallas.
Many of the players on this year’s U-18 team are playing in their third consecutive USSDA quarterfinal. With the U-16s in 2014, the Blue and White suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Chicago Magic PSG. The match was played across the border in Bellingham, Washington due to passport issues for the visiting team.
Last year, the U-16s again hosted a quarterfinal, but for the first time at home. With a couple hundred fans in attendance at SFU, the ‘Caps gave their supporters everything they had. A thrilling match was finally decided in penalty kicks, as Georgia United took the victory.
