Residency teams get win and draw versus Portland Timbers Academy

Whitecaps FC Residency teams were back in action on Saturday, taking on rivals Portland Timbers Academy at the Timbers Training Facility in Beaverton, Oregon.


The U-18 ‘Caps finished with a 2-2 draw against the Timbers.

Striker Gloire Amanda led the attack with both goals as the ‘Caps moved to 2W-2L-1D.

The U-16s finished up the day with a big 3-0 win against their Cascadia foes.

September Youth Player of the Month Alessandro Hojabrpour scored, along with Gurman Sangha and T-Boy Faiya. The win moved the team to 3W-2L-0D on the season.

“The boys put in a real solid display today,” noted U-16 head coach Adam Day after the match. “We looked hungry all over the pitch and were very accomplished in our display. We dominated large spells of the match and I think in the end it could have been more than 3-0. We look forward now to another Cascadia rival at home to the Sounders next Saturday.”
