Whitecaps FC Residency win one of two versus Sounders FC Academy

Whitecaps FC Residency teams played to a win and a loss against Pacific Northwest rivals Seattle Sounders FC Academy on Saturday.
The club would also like to congratulate U-18 head coach Rich Fagan on the birth of his second daughter!
The U-18s improved to 3W-2L-1D with a strong 4-2 win over Sounders FC U-18s.
Georges Mukumbilwa scored two goals for the ‘Caps, with Victory Shumbusho and Alan Camacho adding the others.
“It was a sharp performance from the team, in bad weather,” noted Residency technical director Craig Dalrymple. “The boys deserved the win.”
Lineup vs. Seattle
Thomas Hasal; Nicolas Apostol, Joel Harrison, Brendan Skinner, Terrell Smith; Patrick Metcalfe, Victory Shumbusho (Noah Verhoeven 70’), Nicholas Fussell (Andres Charles-Barrera 60’); Terran Campbell, Alan Camacho (Theo Bair 60’), Georges Mukumbilwa (Ethan Gopaul 70')
The U-16s saw their three-match winning streak halted with a 3-0 defeat versus Seattle’s U-16 side.
Anthony Caceres had the best chance for the ‘Caps when he had a penalty kick saved 10 minutes into the match.
“The performance wasn't reflected in that score line, but it was a poor match and we didn't play as well as we're capable of,” noted U-16 head coach Adam Day. “Goals change games and I think if we score the penalty, we probably win that game because we had total control in the first half. However, it wasn't to be and simply we didn't respond well after the break. We'll draw a line under it and move on.”
