Whitecaps FC partner with Lethbridge Soccer Association

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Vancouver Whitecaps FC have partnered with the Lethbridge Soccer Association to launch an official Whitecaps FC Academy Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Both boys and girls from U-9 to U-14 have the opportunity to be selected to a limited number of training spots available in the program. The Prospects Academy provides supplemental club training for motivated boys and girls in a Whitecaps FC professional club environment. The initial launch will include one training session per week in a Fall/Winter 2017/18 phase starting on Tuesday, October 24. 

Fall/Winter 2017/18 - 15 Sessions

  • U13 to U14 Boys & Girls. Tuesdays, 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Starts October 24
  • U9 to U12 Boys & Girls. Friday’s, 2:30 to 5:30 pm in 2 time slots. Starts October 27

The academy program is led by Whitecaps FC Alberta Academy Centre head coach Ricky King, who is also the lead coach for the Alberta Soccer and Whitecaps FC provincial Prospects program, while being closely connected to the Whitecaps FC boys Residency and Girls Elite Super REX full-time programs in Vancouver.

“We’re looking for motivated players who want to take their game to the next level,” said King. “This includes opportunities in Alberta as well as our High Potential Prospects (HPP) program, which provides opportunities to represent the club at various events throughout the year.”

Whitecaps FC will work closely with the Lethbridge Soccer Association to select players for the program based off of a free online interest registration.
