U-17s vs. Weston FC 2017

Residency Report: U-17s play their second match at the Winter Showcase

Whitecaps FC U-17 Residency played their second match at the Development Academy Winter Showcase on Saturday, taking on Weston FC and falling to only their second defeat of the season.

After a strong 2-0 win over New York City FC to open the showcase, it was not the 'Caps day as they fell 4-0.

"The result isn't reflective of the game, but at the end of the day we weren't driven enough today to win the match," head coach Adam Day told whitecapsfc.com. "We didn't take our first chance and they did, all in the first minute. In truth we should have been up at halftime but we didn't have enough desire to score. The last three goals came as we were pushing in the second half, so the final score is a little harsh on the boys. We now have a fantastic opportunity against New York Red Bulls to react and show some character."

The U-17s have a day off on Sunday before finishing the showcase against the 13-1-0 New York Red Bulls on Monday. The U-19s are in action on Sunday, taking on a 14-0-0 New York Red Bulls side.
