Whitecaps FC U-19s wrap-up season in fourth place at the Academy Championship

KANSAS CITY, MO – Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-19 Residency wrapped up their season with a 2-1 defeat versus Columbus Crew SC Academy in the third place match on Tuesday.

The ‘Caps opened the scoring 10 minutes into the match when striker Jefferson Alade finished a low cross from midfielder Simon Colyn.

Columbus then leveled the score at the end of first half stoppage time, and found a winner 10 minutes into the second half. The Blue and White pressed throughout the second half but could not find an equalizer.

The Residency program will now take a short break before returning in August to prepare for the start of the next academy season in September.
