Concacaf announced on Monday the nominees and the opening of fan voting for the annual Concacaf Awards, including several Whitecaps FC representatives.
Among the inclusions are Rhian Wilkinson, the new head coach of the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Super REX program in partnership with BC Soccer. Wilkinson led Canada’s U-17 women’s national to their best ever finish, fourth place at the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Also nominated are Jordyn Huitema for the Female Best XI at the forward position, and Alphonso Davies is nominated among the Male Best XI forwards.
The Concacaf Awards, which began in 2013 and will be presented for the sixth time, recognize players, coaches, and referees at all age levels, who have excelled in Concacaf and FIFA-sanctioned tournaments involving the Confederation’s national teams and clubs.
Fans can vote at Concacaf.com/awards. Voting will close on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 8:59 p.m. PT.
