Academy Report: 'Caps put up strong results in Northern California

Whitecaps FC Academy teams returned to Development Academy action this weekend, earning positive results in Northern California.

U-19

The U-19s won 4-0 over Breakers FC on Saturday through goals from Logan Chung, Vasco Fry, Christopher Lee, and Emiliano Brienza. Goalkeeper Isaac Boehmer earned the clean sheet in net.

On Sunday the U-19s played to a 0-0 draw against De Anza Force. Evan Ince conceded no goals in net for the ‘Caps.

The results see the ‘Caps sitting at the top of the Northwest Division standings with 31 points. The U-19s (9W-1L-4D) are third overall in the 78-team league.

U-17

The U-17s took home a 2-0 win over Breakers FC on Saturday. Frixos Petsas and Deylen Vellios scored the goals. Emil Gazdov was in net for the clean sheet.

Sunday saw a close 1-0 defeat against De Anza Force.

The U-17s (9W-2L-3D) are currently in second place in the Northwest Division, and seventh overall in the Development Academy.

U-15

Saturday’s match against Breakers FC ended in a 4-0 win. Theo Afework scored a hat-trick, while Jay Herdman added the other. Harrison Gough earned the clean sheet in net.

Sunday saw a 2-0 win over De Anza Force. Rohin Kapila opened the scoring before Afework scored his fourth in two matches. Max Anchor recorded the clean sheet in net.

The U-15s (5W-4L-1D) are currently in fifth place in the Northwest Division.
