CALGARY, AB – The Whitecaps FC Development Squad played their final match before their trip to the United Kingdom, falling 2-0 to CPL side Cavalry FC in Calgary on Tuesday.

Head coach Nick Dasovic started seven teenagers, with another six on his bench. Current Whitecaps FC Academy players Chance Carter, Gabriel Escobar, Kamron Habibullah, and Damiano Pecile all slotted into the lineup.
Cavalry FC took an early lead on a direct free kick two minutes in. An even first half saw a second goal from the home team after a cross and finish on 40 minutes.

The ‘Caps acquitted themselves well in the second half as the score remained the same at the final whistle.

“This was a great exercise for us today, playing a professional men’s team,” noted head coach Nick Dasovic after the match. “The match was played at a great pace with a tremendous spirit on both sides. Our main focus was how the boys met the challenge, and they showed well. This was a good test for us before the trip to England.”
