Academy Report: ‘Caps take two of three from rival Sounders

On Saturday, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy hosted their Pacific Northwest rivals Seattle Sounders FC Academy at the National Soccer Development Centre (NSDC).
The U-19s battled to a 1-0 win, courtesy of a 20th minute goal from Albert Kang.
Goalkeeper Evan Ince recorded the clean sheet in net, coming off of a great performance in England with the Whitecaps FC Development Squad on Tuesday when he started and earned a first half clean sheet versus Merstham.
The U-19s remain in first place in the Northwest Division, and third overall in the Development Academy.
The U-17s rolled to a 3-0 win over the defending national champion Sounders U-17s.
Tomas Ribeiro, Massud Habibullah, and Brandon Cambridge scored the goals. Goalkeeper Ben Alexander recorded the clean sheet in net.
The U-17s now head to the Generation adidas Cup starting this weekend, with their first match against Colorado Rapids on Saturday.
The U-15s fell 3-2 in a close match.
Theo Afework and Jay Herdman scored the goals for the ‘Caps. Afework has now scored 12 goals in 11 matches.
The U-15s will be heading to the Rotterdam Cup in the Netherlands later this month.
