Academy Centre Players of the Month - March 2019

Alberta Academy Centre
Name: Ella Herbert
Birth Year: 2007
What her coaches say: "Ella has had a fantastic Winter phase in the Canmore Academy Centre. It is obvious to the coaches that she has been working hard on developing ball mastery which has seen her have a lot more success in her control in training and ability to beat opponents in 1v1 situations during games. Ella is also a very bright and positive individual and it is our pleasure to teach her!"
Name: Diego Perez de Camino
Birth Year: 2003
What his coaches say: "Diego has worked extremely hard on developing his player habits this season and has demonstrated a high level of skill during training sessions. In particular, he has shown a lot of flair in 1v1 situations with an end product. He also possesses excellent training habits and has a positive effect on those players around him. We look forward to working with Diego more moving forward!"
Name: Samantha Clamp
Birth Year: 2009
What her coaches say: "Sam has been a pleasure to work with these past two seasons. We have seen strong improvement in her ball control which has helped her beat opponents more consistently in 1v1 situations. We particularly like Sam's intensity when training. The speed of play is always high on her field during games and other players are inspired by how hard she works during moments of transition. Keep up the great work Sam."

What his coaches say: "Brady has been a consistent performer each week in our Lethbridge Academy Centre. He particularly demonstrates good spatial awareness which really helps him make effective decisions when he receives the ball. He has a strong level of technique which helps him manipulate the ball out of tight spaces in the middle of the field. Keep up the excellent work Brady!"
Name: Mykena Walker
Birth Year: 2005
What her coaches say: "Mykena has been a consistent performer in our academy centre training sessions in Springbank. She demonstrates a high level of game understanding, recognizing the appropriate moments to exploit space with a dribble and also pass off the dribble accurately. Mykena was also rewarded for her continued development with a place in the Alberta Provincial team where she was one of the stand out performers at the Vancouver Combine."

What his coaches say: "Simon came into our academy recently and has demonstrated a high level of skill which has been him one of the most exciting players in the academy. Simon's ability to master the ball in tight spaces and dribble out of pressure has made him an unpredictable player. He also recognises the right moments in the game to pass off the dribble and has a very positive attitude to training. Keep up the good work Simon!"

What her coaches say: "Jaeda is always a consistent performer in training and is very focused on developing herself to her maximum. Jaeda has made some impressive improvements in her ability to dribble at or away from players and receiving under pressure over the last month."

What his coaches say: "Ryder has really been working hard on his player habits over the last months and that hard work was apparent as he put in excellent performances during the adidas Cup with our HPP team."

Name: Stephanie Schoeley

What her coaches say: "Stephanie had a great week at the Whitecaps FC Academy Centre Combine in Surrey where she was part of the Ontario Whitecaps U-13 girls team, earning a spot in the U-13 Girls Game of Distinction. Stephanie is a composed and consistent central midfielder with excellent vision and awareness and a great attitude. Congratulations on a great week at the Combine Stephanie and good luck in your first OPDL season this summer.''

What his coaches say: "Jack excelled at the Whitecaps FC Academy Centre Combine in Surrey where he was part of the Ontario Whitecaps U-13 boys team. A very fast winger, Jack's performances earned him a spot in the U-13 Boys Game of Distinction where he also delivered a standout performance. Well done Jack and good luck in your first OPDL season this summer."
