The second match came against German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, as the 'Caps fell 2-0.
A big test for the 'Caps saw the Blue and White push on the counter attack but unable to break through. Goalkeeper Harrison Gough notably made a pair of big stops. A few more chances were created via Jay Herdman, Joey Pereira, Yayo Mutombo, and Carson Muter, but no goals would come under hot conditions.
Facing the Danish club, the 'Caps came away with a 4-1 win.
Four minutes into the match some fancy footwork from Thomas Budisa along the left sideline led to a ball to Theo Afework, who beat his man and drove into the 18 before slotting in his second of the tournament.
Later on, Aalborg attacked into the box and finished to make it 1-1. But the 'Caps retook the lead on a close range rocket from Alessandro Comita to go up 2-1.
Early in the second half a Budisa cross bounced in to make it 3-1. Afework then rounded the goalkeeper for his third goal on the first day of the tournament for the final score.
The 'Caps will round out group play on Sunday with matches against Norwegian side SK Brann (1 a.m. PT) and Dutch side AZ Alkmaar (8 a.m. PT). The second match is expected to be streamed at facebook.com/SportChainCup.
